From Warm Hands

Pink with
Black and white,
Two the same
Only different
As right left
Male and female,
Bell ringing clear tinkle
As she moves her hands
From the hot oven
Pulls out a tray
Of freshly baked cookies
For her sons
Who swallow them whole
Inhaling the crumbs
Be careful,
   she warns
The tray is hot don't eat them yet.
She takes off her pig
Pot holders
And watches her sons
Burn their tongues
Like yesterday.
